Taiwan's energy conundrum

Like Japan, Taiwan's location on the edge of the Pacific makes it vulnerable to earthquakes and tsunamis. But with no oil and gas of its own, the island state lacks any kind of energy security. The FT's Sarah Mishkin visits a nuclear power station under construction and talks to exponents of renewable energy about the country's energy prospects.
