Pope Francis in Brazil

Pope Francis has chosen Brazil, the world's largest Roman Catholic country, for his first foreign trip since becoming pontiff. His visit comes at a time when the country is being rocked by mass street protests and the church is suffering a decline in popularity. Joe Leahy, the FT's Brazil bureau chief, reports from Rio de Janeiro.
