China's choking smog

Chengde is dominated by steel mills that are the main source of employment for local residents. But as well as jobs, the smokestacks bring dust and smog. As China tries to grapple with its pollution problem, people living in cities like Chengde are on the frontline. The FT's Lucy Hornby reports
