Myanmar struggles to protect land rights

Myanmar's Thilawa special economic zone is a vast industrial project that the government and its Japanese partners say could be a motor for development. But some local people are unhappy about official efforts to relocate them – and at the heart of the matter is a dispute over land rights, one of the most contentious subjects in the new Myanmar.
