Obama responds to Crimea referendum

Following Sunday's disputed vote in Crimea that saw overwhelming support for breaking away from Ukraine to join Russia, US President Barack Obama signed an executive order freezing assets and banning travel for seven Russian policymakers. Geoff Dyer, the FT's US diplomatic correspondent, says the crisis in Ukraine is distracting from nearly every aspect of the Obama administration's foreign policy plans.
