Obama’s symbolic visit to Hiroshima

Barack Obama became the first sitting US president to visit Hiroshima since the second world war nuclear bomb. However, he did not apologise for the attack. The FT’s Leo Lewis says that despite this, his visit is a powerful symbol of reconciliation.
