Political killing new high in Mexico drug violence

Jun 29 2010  Rodolfo Torre Cantu, a state gubernatorial candidate, was assassinated in the northern state of Tamaulipas, Mexico on Monday by suspected drug hitmen. Adam Thomson, the FT’s Mexico correspondent, says this is the most high profile assassination yet in the country’s ongoing drug related violence, and explains the implications for President Felipe Calderon’s crack down on organized crime.  (2m 18sec)
