Bakrie payments slow for mud victims

Jul 17 2012  Some 40,000 people were displaced after the world's biggest mud volcano erupted on the Indonesian island of Java in 2006. The disaster happened as a company owned by the Bakries - one of the country's most powerful business families - drilled for gas nearby. They deny wrongdoing, although they did offer cash and rehousing to those affected. But as the FT's John Aglionby reports, much that was promised has yet to be delivered.  (2m 39sec)
