Investors can fill European lending gap

Jul 31 2012  Christophe Evain, chief executive of ICG, thinks the lending gap in Europe caused by banks' withdrawal from the credit markets should be filled by asset managers. Lending by non-bank institutions is far more common in the US, where he says it makes up 75 per cent of all loans extended to the economy. Such lending makes sense for investors who need to find good yields, he says.  (4m 33sec)
