Rubbish-fuelled slum oven wins award

Dec 5 2012  The winner of the FT/Citi Ingenuity Awards is a cooker that safely burns slum rubbish as fuel. Designed by the Community Cooker Foundation which hopes to see it replicated across the world, the oven helps surmount a number of challenges facing slum dwellers. East Africa correspondent Katrina Manson visits Kenya's flower-farm town of Naivasha to see one such 'community cooker' in action.  (3m 12sec)
