Life in Jakarta's rubbish dump

As Indonesia develops, its thriving economy produces a lot of waste. In Jakarta, most of it ends up at Bantar Gebang. The FT's Ben Bland visits the landfill site to spend a day with Mrs Rastinah and her family, who eke out a living by collecting trash to sell for recycling. It is dangerous, unpleasant work but for those left behind by the Indonesian boom, there are few other options.
