Commissioner defends EU funds

Johannes Hahn, European Commissioner for Regional Policy, says the variation in standards of accountability in Europe hinders the efficient disbursement of structural funds across the region, but it is this disparity that the fund hopes to eradicate. He defends the receiving of funds by multinational companies, arguing that these job-creators must be attracted to the region to avoid the de-industrialisation of Europe.
