Portugal resists help

The crisis in the euro has been overshadowed of late by the fighting in Libya and the soaring price of oil, but it is coming to a head. Portugal's 10-year debt has breached the key 7 per cent barrier for 19 days now, many more than Ireland and Greece managed before requesting a bail-out. James Mackintosh, investment editor, says Portugal may resist the inevitable for a while longer, but will need a rescue eventually.
