George Osborne today launched the Office for Budget Responsibility, a new independent watchdog to monitor government spending. Chris Giles, economics editor, talks to Daniel Garrahan about the level of discrepancy have we have seen in recent years between government projections and actual borrowing levels, how powerful the new OBR will be and whether it is an efficient use of government money.
