Real estate company Ventas has spent $11bn on acquisitions in the past year. Debra Cafaro, chief executive of Ventas, says she expects further consolidation in the healthcare property market, as there is an industry-wide trend of transfer of ownership from operators, private equity and pension funds to real estate companies, such as Ventas.
