Microsoft's new smartphone

Microsoft launched a new version of its Windows Phone 7 smartphone operating system in New York that will be the first of a new generation of Nokia handsets due to launch later this year. In an attempt to compete with Apple's iPhone and Google Android-powered smartphones, the new phone incorporates multimedia and application technology with Windows software.
