Derivatives regulator faces funding challenges

Jun 9 2011  At the annual Sandler O'Neill global exchange leaders' conference in New York, Gary Gensler, the chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, spoke to the FT's Michael Mackenzie. The US regulator mandated by the Dodd-Frank legislation to write and implement new rules to govern derivatives and swaps trading, says that despite industry concerns the American public is not protected until the rules are enacted.  (4m 9sec)
